WTF is wrong with these idiots renting their places in Sollentuna, Huddinge and other shitholes for 15000 SEK? I mean I know it ain't rent controlled apartment, but isn't there any law (not to use the word moral) regarding that? I just saw an add for a room in Sundbyberg (hello, WTF is that? This is not New York so that it's cool to live in Brooklyn) for 7000 SEK. Despicable morons.

It's simply supply and demand. If they can rent out their room/apartment for that much money, why would they rent it out for less money?

We were able to rent decent apartments with reasonable prices, but here in Stockholm where demand is high and supply is low, those prices are not uncommon.

Yes, I get that, but I'm not talking about Stockholm (Södermalm, Östermalm, Norrmalm, Kungsholmen). Fucking Vallentuna is not Stockholm and people who consider that as Stockholm and put those prices on their apartments there have serious mental issues.

I have to agree, the prices outside are sometimes more than apartments in the city.
Why is that?

Perhaps rooms for rent, also drove the prices higher for a full apartment.

But people are prepared to pay this. Apartments in central Stockholm are not infinite, so the demand spills over into the suburbs and so do the prices.

It's just another victory for Sweden's well functioning housing market. Add that to Swedes' over-the-top-greed, and that basically splains it.

Yes, exactly.

Stockholm is quite small and it's not even a metropolitan city. These prices are just ridiculous.
Berlin, on the other hand, has much more reasonable housing prices. Not to mention that Stockholm ain't comparable to Berlin, Paris, London etc. Maybe in some minds that are in denial, otherwise definitely not.

It's not just Sweden. Is there a society that's not greedy ? It's a humankind trait. No country or society is immune. People are the same everywhere.

No, but it is somewhere many people including yourself would like to and are moving to, so it must be desirable, or perhaps in your case like many others more desirable than Berlin, Paris and London, you obviously for one reason or another chose Stockholm over the other cities.

And hence why prices are high, many other people like you are choosing Stockholm first and pushing up demand.
