9 out of 10 news stories is about poor refugees, and the other 10% is about how awesome Sweden is at everything.

Shame you never hear about the school system falling apart, no help for special needs kids available anymore unless you are a refugee, optometrist waiting list a year long, not a cop to be seen anywhere, etc

Well, Sweden would like to share the pity-party with the rest of the world as it is worth much on the virtue-signalling black market.

A feeble attempt to somehow pretend it is relevant on the world stage.

But it is backfiring! The word is out on the utter fuck-up Sweden is, and the more they pretend otherwise, the more laughable they become.

Open "google news uk (or whatever country)" and do a search for Sweden, the "only" contributions in English link to...you guessed it, Sweden's only "in English" propaganda rag (bought and paid for)!

As fascinating as it is humorous!

What the Swedes don't understand is that people from nations outside Sweden, are not nearly as easily mentally manipulated as the average Swede...so they literally have no idea that the non-sense they spout off about, comes across more or less as a joke elsewhere (i.e. non-Swedes can hardly believe any nation could really be "that" stupid).

It's beautiful really!

I don't know your experience with Sweden, but I might explain mine (in small words because you are obviously also special needs):
Very autistic child 1 year and 1 month from request for diagnosis to completed diagnosis because the local nurse didn't believe us our child was different, then local psychologist was on parent leave and they weren't going to replace her so we should just wait until she came back, then Hab took 6 months to complete the diagnosis even though we were "fast tracked"

Mildly autistic child 2: quickly referred to Hab after preliminary investigation, that was 10 months ago, but Hab have told us they are very busy with refugee kids and should be able to diagnos our child by next summer... 1.5 year after we were referred!
Crosseyed child..."you will have to wait 9 months to get an appointment as we are very busy." After smashing a few heads the answer changed to we can help sooner but you have to drive 50km to a different hospital (I was more than happy to).

Dagis waiting time 5 months in one city and 6 months in the next due to high refugee intake, partner having to turn down work due to no dagis.

Currently: I have to work reduced hours as the school will only provide after school care for our autistic child 4 days a week.

Google early intervention and then try to correlate that to a 2 year autism diagnosis period, but I suspect your comprehension may be too impaired.

Cheeky. I don't come to you with my problems, but here you are! Are you even Swedish?

Also, for a person in your situation, don't you think using "special needs" as a derogatory term might backfire? IE, "people living in glass houses shouldn't ...".

Yes, Swedish, employed, pay a huge amount of taxes, live in the wonderful country of Sweden, have to deal with a 3rd world government hellbent on trying to make the country the worst in the western world.

If you don't think the impacted services of schooling, health, police are worth discussing then I ask do you live in Sweden? Do you pay any tax and receive 3rd world services for your contribution? I am merely adding my experiences of the current problems in Sweden.

My kids are autistic and need to be treated a little different, start early and they will fit into society eventually, ignore the problem and end up with life time government support.

Based on your comments on multiple threads, I can guarantee you are special needs whether you have a diagnosis or not, nothing derogatory involved at all.

Not at all. You might want to ponder whether your irrational and erratic mind, as reflected through your posts here, has caused the "special needs" of your multiple children. Just saying. Nothing derogatory intended at all.

In my opinion, if you were a wise man, you should not even use that word unnecessarily. But then you are obviously not a wise man.

Hint: A person with special needs has access to a lot of resources in this country. You need to know how to work the system to gain access to those resources though. Sitting here ranting is counter-productive to fulfilling the needs of your kin. Do you care? I don't know. Just saying that there are more productive things you can do with your time, considering your special situation. I suggest you contact some support groups or other individuals in a similar situation.

If things don't work out for you here, you could of course go back whence you came and see what level of support you get there.

I'm sorry, are you suggesting a Swedish citizen should take his Swedish wife and Swedish kids to another country because the system in Sweden is so incompetent that you have to "work it" to get any help?
Perhaps I'll take them to Australia for example, where the diagnosis waiting time is one month and then one month to complete, 2 months vs 1.5 years in Sweden?

26 months in Luleå!

I'm guessing you don't have any young children in Sweden at the moment, if you actually even live here.

I am saying that a miserable foreigner such as yourself might get in a better mood in that culture-less antipode, and thereby be able to provide better support for your demanding family, instead of spending your time with erratic griping on this board, late at night. But don't complain when/if you notice that people in your situation have a lot of problems over there as well. I bet I can find 10 horror stories about the Aussie situation within 2 minutes of Googling.

Båg, you haven't been around for awhile. The wonderful person who goes by the name Twiceshy is not a nice person. Trying to communicate with him is pretty much a waste of time. Sorry you had to experience his bile. It is best to ignore him just as you would walk around a dog turd on the street.

Båg Såg, sorry to learn of your frustrating situation. From what I know of the health care system in Sweden, they are underfunded, and trying to save budget everywhere. I wonder if they get some bonus-funding package by preferring fugees over natives? You could ask them about that, and see if they twitch. Also to watch out for is to be unnecessarily referred to a "specialist". This is a common tactic "primary" operates to save budget, clear your file from their desk, and dump you off to someone else, who if in fact is inappropriate (i.e. not actually fit for purpose for your medical needs) will just send you right back to "primary". And this will consume months and months of unnecessary waiting and wasting everyone's time.

Would there perhaps be private options available for you? I do not know costs, likely more expensive, but it might be worth checking into if it means you kids get sorted faster.

It is a real shame that this is the price to be paid for "The New Country" to take its form. But it is good that you share your story, partly to vent, but also to inform others what they are in for with the Swedish systems.

There are unfortunately, yet-to-be-diagnosed special needs people here, such as Twiceshy (indeed a deeply troubled person), who are so weighed down by self-loathing that they become desperate for any kind of attention to compensate for and fill the gap of what is lacking for them in the real world. To be ignored as with any other energy vampire (with shitty attitude in general).
