In pictures: Vasaloppet 2017, the world’s oldest ski race

Vasaloppet is the world’s oldest cross-country ski race and the biggest in terms of the number of participants. The 90-kilometre race runs every year (since 1922) between the village of Sälen and town of Mora, inspired by a now-mythical journey by Sweden’s future king Gustav Vasa, who was locked in fierce struggle against invading Danes in 1521.
