Man dead after train collides with car in southern Sweden

A man was reported dead after a train collided with his car at a railway crossing in southern Sweden on Wednesday.

The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital after the crash on Wednesday morning but later died in hospital, a spokesperson for the Kalmar region told the TT news agency.

A police press spokesperson had earlier said that the man was the only person in the car. She also said that there had been no injuries to passengers on the train involved in the crash, who were able to leave the scene by bus.
