Vengeful ex behind bomb hoax: report

Vengeful ex behind bomb hoax: report

Published: 27 Sep 2010 13:59 GMT+02:00
Updated: 27 Sep 2010 13:59 GMT+02:00

A 28-year-old Canadian man was briefly arrested in connection with the allegations but then released without charge after no explosives were found aboard the plane, flying from Toronto to Karachi.

The cleared suspect was going to Pakistan to get married and his ex had called Canadian police warning he was carrying explosives because she was unhappy with their separation, tabloid Aftonbladet wrote.

"From what I understood, an ex came forward with the claim in connection with their separation. It was surely not a happy one," Stockholm police officer Håkan Westing, who could not be reached for comment Monday, told Aftonbladet.

"She had an evil eye on him," he said, adding that according to the cleared suspect's written statement he was going to get married in Pakistan.

Stockholm police spokesperson Kjell Lindgren told AFP Monday the man was travelling to Pakistan "for personal reasons," but could not confirm he was going to get married or that an angry ex had tipped off Canadian authorities.

"It's a theory," was all he would say.

Lindgren said the man, who was detained but then released without charge after his plane had already left for Pakistan, was expected to leave Sweden Monday.

Media had reported earlier Monday the man was blocked from leaving Sweden because no airlines would take him onboard.

"That's not true," Lindgren said. "I think its a misunderstanding. There was no place, is the information I got. It just didn't work out with the flights."

Lindgren said there were no direct flights from Sweden to Pakistan but that Swedish authorities would continue to help the man as quickly as possible.

Canadian police has said they are looking into whether the bomb alert they received was a "terrorist hoax."

If it was a disgruntled ex, then she should be bloody well ashamed of herself-not just for what she did to him, but for frightening all of the other passengers. How would she like it if it was one of her relatives onboard?? Throw the book at her.

@Marko: you have well interpreted it in your own way. Your assumption directed to conclusion with sample size 1 infers that all Christians marriages are always successful, Dude!

I propose that this lady pays at least what cost for emergency landing, facilitating other passengers, interrogation, additional cost for accommodating passengers through other flights. So it should be a lesson for a playing with the system.

I think the Swedish police reading my comments hehe I said this at first when I saw the news :)

Some girls are so crazy.

Markoss201s you racist!

Western girls love the Muslim men, coz Muslims are not some western men who share wives when they are drunk or have parties sex so shutup .

She seems to be sick and mental for doing this to all people on board. she was an idiot like you who could not think for one man you scare 1000 of people and closes airports....

The woman should be fined heavily for the inconvenience caused to the accused and to the passengers.

"you have well interpreted it in your own way."

Indeed. I believe that human beings interpret things the way that suit them. Same way as your clerics interpreted "drink but don't get drunk" :)

Besides, I think you and all Westerner women ought to thank me for giving them a free lesson.

@Dr Love #4

Your poor grammar goes hand in hand with your lack of grasp of reality.

Anyway, praising Muslim men makes me proud since I am a Muslim as well. However, I won't thank you for that because you just said some obvious facts.

@Marko: Well, I think things should be interpreted as they are supposed to be interpreted. However, if you bring up a new theory then you must support your conclusions with some solid base otherwise you won't have any sound ground.

Story for you: There was a child who memorized just one essay for his exam and that was 'My Best Friend'. It starts like... Peter is my best friend. He lives next to my house. He has two younger brothers. We go to the same class. He always get first position.... However if some other essay appears in the exam like 'Journey to Kreta'. Then he starts like: I went to airport with my parents to travel to Kreta. As soon we flew, I saw Peter's house. Peter is my best friend. He lives next to my house and off we go.

I think you also learned just one essay which you are offering for free. :p

Regarding my clerics, I leave it to next time when this discussion will be more relevant with the subject.

BTW, with your little cute Peter, you just explained what kind of person you are :)

@Marko: thanks.

You are absolutely pigheaded who couldn't interpret things right. I guess you are most probable 'school drop out'. Thatswhy Peter has left you and you take all opportunity to disgrace him.

@Marko2010S You are really dumb, sorry to tell you that. You are so full of clichés and your mind is extremely simple. With your mentality you are the perfect example on why people dont like muslims. And believe me, i try to defend muslims in front of other westeners, but when i hear somebody make comments as stupid as yours you make the task almost impossible.
09:13 September 28, 2010 by Marko2010S
@MTH and Others

I don't know why you are attacking me so badly like this. I don't know what kind of sin that I've committed to freak you out.

Is this how you reward someone wants to provide you a sage advice and protect your women?

Look at you post and other goons' posts. Most of them contains personal abuses, and you talk about mutual respect.

Re-read my post #2 , then open your mouth.

Firstly I was asking about her origin. I didn't lie nor claim that she is a westerner woman. Therefore @BERTRAM #17 --> Zip your face.

After that, I wanted to show women a real-case example to learn in the future. In other words, I was telling them do not date Muslims unless you are 112% sure. Because simply Muslims prefer marry from their own.

So, basically I showed clearly how much I care about the western society and I didn't want their women to get hurt, break their hearts or pay bills due to some false accusation.

All in all, It is pretty obvious that all of you (Aside from the fact that you are mindless blind-goons) are just semi-humans and your hearts have deep hate.
12:38 September 28, 2010 by MTH
Well your explanation kind of makes more sense, but still you cannot generalize just because in one case (this case) the muslim guy left the girl.

Also where is comment number 2? it dissapeared.
15:09 September 28, 2010 by Marko2010S
@MTH #21

I stand corrected, You are entirely and utterly correct. Generalizing is absolutely wrong.

As for the disappearance of my comment#2, I think this explains: Freedom of speech and The honesty level of TheLocal.
