Man charged for running down refugee boy

The boy, who was walking with a group of five people, was on his way to play pool at a recreation centre in Höör, southern Sweden, wrote the Skånskan newspaper.

A 25-year-old who saw the group drove directly toward them in his vehicle, knocking the boy backwards and damaging his leg.

The boy, who is now 18, told police later that he thought he would be hit again by the car and fearing for his life, he hid behind a container.

According to the paper, the boy comes from a country that is at war and the incident left him “paralyzed with fear”.

In a photo line-up at police headquarters, the victim allegedly identified the attacker immediately and without doubt.

The man denies the charges.

The incident, which occurred in late July last year, took place in a school’s parking lot. It is alleged that the man drove his car off the road and along a path in the grass, chasing the group of boys, wrote Skånskan.

It has come to light that the charged man has been in several conflicts with youth with foreign backgrounds before.

He told police of a previous incident in a park in the area where three “foreign boys” were yelling and shrieking, and how he told them off, which led to a “minor fight”, wrote the paper.

The 25-year-old claimed that they day after, the group of refugees kicked at the door of his car and jumped on the bonnet.

The 18-year-old, who claims the driver is racist, told police that he had never seen the 25-year-old before, but that he now thinks the man belongs in prison.

Witness accounts suggest it was clear that the man was driving at the boys with intent to hit them, and prosecutor Tommy Clevenhult has two witnesses who will testify in court, wrote the paper.

Somehow I don't believe he would waste gas trying to run them over for nothing. I believe him when he said they were vandalising his car. Then again, what else is new?

Who calls a 18 year old man a boy?

The "boy" has never meet the driver but he knows for sure that he is a racist? It seems there is more behind this story then what is know here. Apperently the driver has a history with some of the "boys".

Let the witnesses be heard and if they saw what is being claimed then the driver should be put in jail.

here we go the bigoted haters on the loose defending their next of kin; it doesn't matter what kind of alleged crime s/he committed, as long as it's against immigrants/refugees. you'd been nowhere to comment during the alleged serial killer's court hearings reports.

I thought after one of your ilk with the same views, Breivik, was locked up and shown to the world as having a twisted way of looking at immigrants and multiculturalism, the bigots here on the local would get back in their box and quieten down. I believe Breivik himself would have posted here in the past as his views are no different to what we see daily on The Local.

You racists on here are a disgrace and I worry that you are out there in the community. Maybe it is Breivik himself posting??

Interesting (not) comments already here, the nuthugging left wing claiming anyone that doesn't agree with them is either a racist or a bigot (or both), how original and intellectually broadminded of you all! Real keyboard warriors with the 'highest' of morals eh! NO ONE here knows the true story so it is impossible to cast any judgement.

Oh and in particular to Angusthefirst, multiculturalism does NOT work. The whole concept is flawed and the immigrants (I am one myself) do not generally merge with the society they have moved to, instead they create their own mini versions of the country they have come from. Some (like me) try to fit in as best we can, MOST however, do not.

I remind you (and anyone who actually cares) that there ARE rules we all agreed to if you want to post a comment. If you chose not to read them you have no one to blame but you, if you DID read them you knowing broke the rules. Basically, they can decide what they don't like and censore it.

The driver intended to kill hence he should be sent to prison for a long time. It is incredibly flabbergasting to see how many people are ready to defend a criminal simple because the victims are immigrants. How disgusting is that!

The interesting thing in this story for me is that he is charged with reckless driving. If he did do what is reported then how can using a car purposefully as a deadly weapon simply be reckless?

Multiculturalism does indeed work! but only if they all share a common religion (which has to be Christianity) other wise Multiculturalism is an abysmal failure!

Multiculturalism does not work for Catholics, Muslims or any eastern religion as they do tend to fight and be bigoted! Funny that! and it does not work for either side of politics either.... weird really.... makes one think eh?

Hmmm. A bunch of 18 years old "boys" kicking one's car and engaging him in a fight. Obviously they all are future suicide bombers eh, Tarc?

How about the simple fact that the same guy would run over a the same person, if that person would be a swede behaving in the same manner? It is just that the swedes rarely behave in the manner of wild gorillas on speed.

I happen to remember that not so long ago a guy shot down two swedish "boys", who were a part of a gang that terrorized his family for years. Was he also an SD member?
