A Stockholm man approached the father of a 13-year-old girl who did not show up to an arranged sex meet, demanding the refund of an advance payment deposited in the girl's bank account, according to a report in the Metro daily.

The man had established contact with the girl via a dating website and arranged to meet her for sex. The man then deposited 500 kronor ($70) in the girl's bank account in advance of their date.

When the girl did not show up the man attained her home telephone number, called her father and demanded a refund of the money.

The man, who is reported to be a plumber from Stockholm, has now been arrested and charged on suspicion of attempting to buy sexual services from a child.

The man has denied the charges, claiming that he believed that the girl was much older than 13.

None of the dating and social networking website allow you to make profile if you are under 18 years so how could she be 13 and using a dating website?
10:33 August 12, 2010 by Eagle63
This happens all the time in The Netherlands; young girls sometimes make lots of money that way. Sad but true...
11:10 August 12, 2010 by Tennin
It's as simple as using a false date for your birthday on the sites and pressing confirm. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to lie about your age on the web.

There are a lot of women who are making good money for their living just by scamming idiots from other countries to buy them tickets, send some money and etc.

Same thing..

@ Tennin

I think it would be possible to use this fact in court.

Re: I think it would be possible to use this fact in court.

I don't know about here in Sweden, but in the US, "She lied about her age," isn't enough to get you out of trouble. Many a man has gone to jail after using that defense.
13:35 August 12, 2010 by AirForceGuy
And let's face it, some guys just aren't all that bright...
14:13 August 12, 2010 by concha de tu puta madre
I am certain he new her age. Sic bastard.
15:26 August 12, 2010 by hpunlimited
But did he get his money back?
16:13 August 12, 2010 by Puffin
So a paedofile - and a total idiot!! Will cost him a lot more than 500kr

- ringing her dad? obviously knew she was young - thus an admission of attempted statutory rape

- asking for his money back - admitting attempting to buy sex
16:23 August 12, 2010 by Mack
What an idiot... and a cheap bastard to boot.
17:07 August 12, 2010 by ugg
I think he probably "rang up" rather "ringed up"!!!
18:39 August 12, 2010 by Soft Boiled
I agree with Puffin, you don´t ring up an adults dad? I don´t think I´m being too right wing if I suggest life imprisonment after physical and chemical castration.. I don´t want to go over the top ;)
18:39 August 12, 2010 by eddie123
ha! how will this end?
19:20 August 12, 2010 by serbianbelle
If he hadn't been so cheap to ask for refund he wouldn't be in trouble now. It will cost him a lot more to get out of it. The 13 year old wanted to make some money and look where it got her. I wish I could hear what she told her parents?
19:34 August 12, 2010 by dwb5555
The story seems to be incomplete as we don't know that he was calling her father instead it said he called her home and not that he meant to call her father.

Anyway no matter what he paid to have sex which is illegal no matter the age.
20:39 August 12, 2010 by wxman
I see nothing wrong with these kids scamming these pervs out of their cash. It may actually put a real dent in this crime by eventually discouraging them. OTOH, had I been her father, I would have instructed him to meet me in a secluded wooded area around 2AM and that I would "pay him back" there.
22:41 August 12, 2010 by Hagrid
Man, this is too funny...

This guy must be an absolute total moron. Not only was he stupid enough to deposit money in a stranger's bank account in expectation of this future "service", but he was even stupider to call up the father when the girl did not deliver this "service". And approaching a 13 year old, what the hell was he thinking?... Clearly this is criminal. Even assuming the girl indeed lied to him about her age - didn't he know he's likely to get into serious trouble? Didn't he suspect she might be younger? And didn't he know it is illegal in Sweden to purchase sexual services? Amazing, the levels of idiocy reached, when men think only with their Johnson.

As for the girl's father, looks like he's got his hands full now, trying to knock some sense into his young ho.
22:58 August 12, 2010 by Da Goat
ROFLMAO

some "people aren't the sharpest TOOL in the shed

maybe he should have asked for a refund of plumbing services un-rendered

Plumbing tool cleaning service or the like LOL

what a dumbass!
23:15 August 12, 2010 by Renfeh Hguh
The guy should be happy as got what he wanted, to be screwed by a 13 year old girl!
00:12 August 13, 2010 by tuerd1982
Just send both of them to jail.
00:34 August 13, 2010 by avatar
it was probably a matter of principles for him...
01:39 August 13, 2010 by deplorable
Sweet deal for anyone aged 12-17 though, lets be honest. You can join up to all these sites by simply lying about your age.

a 13 year old lying about their age to log onto facebook.. heaven forbid, i hear you cry. If you are saying that, how nieve [neive, both acceptable spellings] and stupid are you, really?

Like i said sweet deal for 12-17 year olds, they get money knowing that if the person complains they'll end up in the same situation as the above man.

*munches popcorn* so are we to blame for pedos, or for creating a bunch of sluts as young as 12 in the first place.... dooo be doo... glad i don't have kids, who'd want to in this world..
01:45 August 13, 2010 by deplorable
"contact with the girl via a dating website "

unless she told him, her age. How would he know?

i could easily show you pictures of 18 year old girls who look 12 (even though in scotland you can get married and have sex at 16 obvious), and 12 year olds who look 16. (some do it on purpose thanks to magazines and media).

since girls are hitting puberty at a younger age than previously, things are only going to get worse... i bet money on it !

Sooooo... again...the blame lies at the feet of both... she should be committed for fraud, and he should go to a lovely ass raping jail with large men named bubba to show him not to purchase sex after contacting someone from a dating site. (Desperation in the first place if you ask me)

i'm brutal, but i speak the truth.... another victory for the human race !
03:54 August 13, 2010 by azedine
this man must be sent behind bars he is a maniac
06:11 August 13, 2010 by omphus
hahahahahahaha
09:00 August 13, 2010 by SarahRF
I wonder how he got her home phone number, if she was stupid enough to put it on her dating website profile, or if she'd given it to him. Because as far as I know, children aren't listed in the telephone books. I just tried finding my 13 yr old brother on Eniro, nothing came up.

I agree with deplorable that the blame lies at the feet of both parties. At age thirteen she shouldn't be selling sex, much less having it. What if she'd ended up pregnant or gotten an STD? She also cheated him of money, not rendering a service that he paid for, regardless of the type of service. Anyone else who tried that in the business world would get in trouble. He of course was a total idiot for trying to buy sex on a dating website. Surely there are websites you can go to and find a sex partner for free, xmatch being one of the more popular ones. Add the fact that she's only 13, and he's doubly screwed, and not the way he wanted!

Some people just don't think sometimes...
10:54 August 13, 2010 by hjoian
i would think twice about calling a plumber in the stockholm area.......
11:00 August 13, 2010 by wabasha
that sure is a lot of money. did he get that back?
17:12 August 13, 2010 by tadchem
I thought America was the home of the world's stupidest criminals, but it appears I am wrong.
18:26 August 13, 2010 by Swedesmith
If some dope approached me about having sex with my daughters, he would quickly refund his penis. Oh, I would give it back, just not in the same place where it was before.
03:05 August 14, 2010 by oOjimOo
Im with Swedesmith - but I have funny feeling it went like this - girl lured him in as she claimed to be older - he was pissed and check out the number - called the number and happened to get her father - father called the police because some perv wanted to have sex with his 13 year old daughter but was looking for a refund because she didnt turn up! As we say in Ireland - It could happen to a bishop! Oh, hold on, it probably did!
04:13 August 14, 2010 by usascottwright
A puffin regarding your comment: - ringing her dad? obviously knew she was young - thus an admission of attempted statutory rape

I'm not sure about your country, we don't have any laws saying if you are over 18 it is manditory to move out of your parents house and not to use there computer and/or phone.

You need to rely on the facts. The law enforcement authorities can look at the chat transcript that they got from a warrent from the judge and served it to the website and it will show that she said she was over 18 or under 18, picture she used on the profile.

You are so gullable, I bet you sent in money to one of those Nigerian scams that said you have won the lottery or some prince has $10 million in the bank and needs help getting that money out of the country and they will cut you in on a piece of the money.

Atleast in our country, you are found guilty or not guilty according to the rules of law and the due dilagence of the procesecuter of finding the facts and evidence that will make them guilty by the judge or a jury and you have a good lawyer.
06:09 August 14, 2010 by schmuck281
I wonder how many other losers have sent in their money but were too smart to make a fuss about failure to perform an illegal act.

She can make money without ever shaking her moneymaker.
