From the old joke about two men urinating over the side of a bridge . . . you would be the guy with the comeback, 'Yeah, and it's deep,too.'
They cannot opt to be un-circumcised
I hope that their illegal circumcisions are still valid... since they will have to live with it the rest of their lives
Under what principle do we consider it acceptable to perform unnecessary surgery on children who cannot give consent? If this is acceptable, what other forms of surgery or body modification may we also perform on children simply because we are their parents? Can we give them tatoos? Remove other parts of their body, like their earlobes or nipples? Can we give them piercings? Why is it only OK to remove penis parts but nothing else?
Unnecessary surgery on a non-consenting minor is by definition unethical and also illegal. The government should not be complicit in allowing this inhumane and damaging procedure to continue.
PS-This is the worst website I've seen in ten years for pop-up ads and the like:-(
By the way circumcision should be done shortly after birth (8 days to be exact, but only if the baby is healthy for those of the Jewish faith) and certainly not when a child is circa. 9 years old! All Jewish boys are circumcised and I dont think its ever harmed them :)
Female circumcision is quite different and one can not compare the two, look at the fatality rates of women who undergo this barbarick act!
* The removal of the tip of the clitoris;
* Total removal of the clitoris and surrounding labia;
* The removal of the clitoris and labia and the sewing up of the vagina, leaving only a small opening for urine and menstrual blood - a process known as infibulation.
So drastic is the mutilation involved in the latter operation that young brides have to be cut open to allow penetration on their wedding night and are customarily sewn up afterwards.
Long-term consequences can include:
* recurrent bladder and urinary tract infections;
* cysts;
* infertility;
* an increased risk of childbirth complications and newborn deaths;
* the need for later surgeries. For example, the FGM procedure that seals or narrows a vaginal opening (type 3 above) needs to be cut open later to allow for sexual intercourse and childbirth. Sometimes it is stitched again several times, including after childbirth, hence the woman goes through repeated opening and closing procedures, further increasing and repeated both immediate and long-term risks.
So boys, having your "pully" snipped isnt too bad really, and women actually prefer the look of it, could you say the same about a women who has been mutilated down stairs?
healthy dick's forever!!

This is for those who are new to scandinavia
A survey this year in the USA showed that 1 in 11,000 boys who undergo the operation actually die from complications (Thymos: Journal of Boyhood Studies Volume 4, Number 1 / Spring 2010, P78-90)
I wouldn't call that 'actually harmless' by any sense of the words.

"Women prefer the look of it"...especially women conditioned to accept the mutilation as "normal"...such is still the case in sexually repressed societies like the USA. Most women around the world prefer men to be intact and unedited by doctors when they are too young to have any say in the matter.
"Could you say the same about a women who has been mutilated down stairs?" Much the same is in fact said in places where women are cut. In the west labia reduction surgery is becoming popular among women for cosmetic reasons....stupid but nevertheless not imposed by someone else.
