Norwegian set to launch Stockholm-New York flights

Budget airline Norwegian is planning to launch direct flights from Stockholm to New York from the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013, the company has confirmed.

"We will start to fly to North America once we receive our Dreamliner and that could be in the end of 2012 or in the beginning of 2013. There is also a possibility that we will launch flights earlier," said Norwegian CEO Björn Kjos to the Nyhetsbyrån Direkt wire service.
Norwegian is also planning to launch a Bangkok service from Stockholm and from the Norwegian capital Oslo.
"We are going to maintain our cut price profile even on the long distance flights," Åsa Larsson at Norwegian told news website svd.se, forecasting that tickets to New York will be sold from around 2,500 kronor ($420).
Sweden's largest airport operator, Swedavia released figures recently showing that demand for flights to New York had reached record levels and invited more actors to take advantage of the city's renewed popularity.
Norwegian announced on May 26th that it had signed an agreement to buy three 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. The firm has a prior agreement to lease a further two planes.

Hopefully at some point Norwegian will put on flights form Aldergrove (Belfast) to Copenhagen and Berlin.
How can a glorified waitress make 35,000 + benefits a month for working 35 hours a week. Obviously the same goes for the pilots compared for instance Norwegian - almost 3 times the salary and work less.
Its not the salary of the normal workers that needs to change, its the business model and other staff benefits.
SEK 35,000 on its own is not horrendous, but all the sick pay, free flights, inflexible working practices that are killigng SAS
