Four schools closed in Malmö after firearm find

Four schools were shut down in Malmö on Friday after a rifle, a shotgun, and ammunition were discovered by construction workers on the roof of one of the schools.

The schools were cordoned off and closed to the roughly 1,300 students after workers at the Heleneholm high school found the firearms. They uncovered one rifle with telescopic sight, one shotgun, and ammunition while working on the roof.

"It was pure coincidence," Patrik Tullberg, a builder at the school, told the Expressen newspaper.

"You wonder whether someone has put them up there to collect them or to use them."

Police closed the school for the entirety of Friday, and will remain present on Saturday.

"In a student environment, it's especially important to be thorough," Erik Jansäker of the local police told the TT news agency.

"We have decided that police will be on the scene for the weekend so that everyone in the area will feel safe."

Police refused to comment on whether the weapon was believed to be linked to any crimes that had taken place in the area, nor whether there were any suspects.

Sweden is a very dangerous country. It's nice to read their news once in a while, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Four schools closed because they found a firearm somewhere?

Do they expect this gun to spontaneously discharge itself, or what?

In the US we hear constantly about "gun violence". so I conducted an experiment, I placed 2 handguns(the most violent, as I do not have an assult rifle) in the table, they just laid there for 2 days, nothing, I then found a box of ammunition for them and also placed it near the hand guns, 5 days, nothing excpt collecting dust. I have concluded that my experiment is in some way flawed, as "common sence" tells me as violent as guns are there should have been some shooting, or ar least a spirited discussion.

It's common sense to shut down the schools if there is any threat at all until the threat is eliminated, including pedos, perverts and drug pushers. The weapons in the area could have been planted in preparation by a phsyco for a massacre. ref: [several firearms were discovered in the vicinity of one of the schools.]

A couple of years ago, a serial killer using a sniper rifle was potting Malmö residents.

It seems reasonable to take seriously the discovery of a rifle plus telescopic sight stashed on a roof top.
