Robyn is not only known for being one of Sweden’s greatest and most successful musicians at the moment but also for her unique style. Last weekend she even got the prize for style icon of the decade at the ELLE awards.
I think she really deserves the prize because she is always a step ahead and creates trends. In particular her short and platinum blond haircut has been copied by many girls and also guys. I also think that her gender-neutral style is very representative for the 00 decade in Sweden where women with boyish bodies and hairless men have ruled the runways and nightclubs.
Regarding Sweden’s most fashionable men, The Hives should have been awarded. I think their style is like a Macbook… black and white, iconic, simple and always up to date.

I agree. If that’s what the style of the decade has been, then I do not mind at all not being up to date with the latest trends. My personal opinion with regards to the outfit in the picture is that she looks like a Haut Couture clown. Something that Tyra Banks would try to do in her America’s Next Top Model show. It’s great for a photo shoot, but not as serious daywear, I think.

I think style icons have to exaggerate to be recognisable. People usually copy a more moderate version of the style. Robyn’s tights and pants on the picture are for instance really great but I wouldn’t combine them with the rest because it’s too much if you are not on the red carpet. Madonna is also a style icon but nobody would copy her outfits as they are…just some details…
