Blaze injures three firemen in Farsta

A fire broke out in a home for disabled people in Farsta last Sunday night. All the residents were safely evacuated, according to Dagens Nyheter on Monday, but three firemen were injured as they fell through a collapsing floor.

The home was set in a two-storey house and while the firemen were extinguishing the remainder of the fire the second floor collapsed beneath them. The supporting wooden beams in the house had been damaged by the fire and snapped in half.

One was caught with his foot in the fall, another dislocated his shoulder and the third suffered neck strain.

Two were taken to Söder Hospital while another was treated at Karolinska Hospital.
