Swedish farmer faces prosecution for dumping dead pigs
A farmer in Skåne may be prosecuted for dumping pig carcasses in the forest, reported SVD on Wednesday. While the pigs are said to have died of natural causes, the paper explained that "it is illegal to dump animal carcasses that have died of disease or natural causes as they have to be properly destroyed".
Apparently dead animals should be kept in a freezer to avoid spreading disease and bacteria, or indeed chemicals from their bodies, before they are destroyed. The farmer in this case has been reported to the court in Malmö.
