Warning: Christmas decorations could seriously damage your health
There was a new public health warning for Swedes this week as Wednesday's Aftonbladet declared that "Christmas decorations could be life threatening".
Putting something of a dampener on yuletime festivities, the newspaper tried various decorations, claiming that advent candelabras could be set alight in less than 60 seconds. They also showed that a Christmas lantern made out of paper can catch fire in just 6 seconds.
The fire brigade has been called out 34 times in the last two weeks, "solely to deal with fires caused by candles and Christmas ornaments", said Aftonbladet.
