Baltic wages 80% lower than in Sweden

This week's Dagens Industri compared wages and salaries in the Baltic countries with levels in Sweden.

Wages in Estonia are about one-fifth of the level in Sweden. Company taxation in the Baltic countries is the lowest in Europe, and personal income taxes are also lower than in Sweden, and falling (at least in Estonia).

The paper said that the level of Swedish business investment in the region has reached 33 billion crowns since the fall of the iron curtain.
