Skandia suitor in Stockholm
South African life insurance company Old Mutual's chief executive Jim Sutcliffe is in Sweden today (Monday) to meet with the largest owners of insurance company Skandia, reported Svenska Dagbladet on Friday, citing Old Mutual's press department.
Sutcliffe wants to discuss the details of Old Mutual's upcoming bid for Skandia, and in particular what bid price the owners expect, the newspaper said.
Skandia's biggest owners include Andra AP-fonden, SEB Fonder, Robur and Cevian Capital.
Skandia's share price jumped again last week on speculation that a takeover deal is close.
In addition to Old Mutual, Nordea, Danske Bank and Friends Provident have also been named as potential suitors of Skandia.
