6.9% unemployed in July

In July 327,000 people, or 6.9% of the labour force, were officially unemployed according to Statistics Sweden. That is an increase of 0.9% compared to July 2004 when 284,000 people were jobless.

During the same period, the number of people employed in state-run schemes designed to reduce unemployment increased by around 10,000 people to 101,000.

The number of people in jobs in July was 4,423,000 people, compared to 4,420,000 people in the same month last year.
