Bank accounts emptied after telephone trick
At least five elderly customers of Föreningssparbanken in Malmö have had their bank accounts drained after being tricked into giving out their account details over the phone.
The five were contacted by a person who said he was calling from the bank because of a computer problem, reported Swedish Radio Malmö.
Per-Anders Lindström, the head of security at Föreningsbanken, said that neither the bank nor anyone else would contact an account holder by telephone and ask for account numbers and codes.
The pensioners had up to 50,000 kronor taken by the fraudster.
