Swedish model jailed for flight rumpus
The 32 year old Swedish model who forced a plane on its way to New York to land in Canada has been sentenced to eight days in jail.
She has also been ordered to pay 200,000 kronor in fines and compensation.
The woman, who has modelled for Versace and Martini and is now studying law in London, is said to have assaulted three air hostesses.
According to tabloid Expressen she was running around the cabin, screaming and dancing in her seat on the British Airways flight on Friday. With the help of other passengers, the crew managed to handcuff her and the flight was diverted to Goose Bay, in Labrador, in eastern Canada.
Over the weekend she was in police custody in Newfoundland.
She was found guilty of breaking international flight regulations.
