Schibsted snaps up Sandrew Metronome

Norwegian media giant Schibsted has become the sole owner of the Sweden's Sandrew Metronome, after buying 50% of company's shares from the Anders Sandrew foundation for 145 million kronor on Friday.

Schibsted already owned the other 50% of the firm, which creates, buys and manages film rights in the Nordic region.

At the beginning of the week, Sandrew Metronome sold it cinemas in Denmark to Norway's Tonfilm and by the end of the year the company's Finnish operations will have been sold off, according to a press release from Schibsted.

Last year Sandrew Metronome sold its Swedish cinemas to Triangelfilm, which renamed the chain Astoria Cinemas.
