Husqvarna announces profit growth

Outdoor lawn equipment maker Husqvarna, in its half-yearly report for 2006, announced second quarter net sales pro forma of 10.13 billion kronor, up from 9.73 billion.
Operating income pro forma increased to 1.28 billion kronor from 1.16 billion kronor.
The company saw a lower demand for its products in the United States and Europe, while operating margins improved in Consumer and Professional Products.
The recall of 174,000 lawn tractors in the United States earlier this month due to a faulty fuel hose is not seen as a threat to the company's value.
