Police have arrested a 36-year-old man and his 16-year-old son in connection with an attempted murder in the Östberga suburb of Stockholm.

The two are suspected of a knife attack on the 25-year-old victim, who is said to be the 16-year-old boy's uncle.

“He is being treated for life-threatening injuries at Stockholm South General Hospital,” said a police source.

According to police spokeswoman Inger Qvennerstedt, the two men went to the 25-year-old's home and rang on his doorbell.

The occupant opened the door, and soon a fight broke out on the lawn. In the ensuing commotion the victim was stabbed.

There were several witnesses to the incident and police received a number of emergency calls. The father and son were arrested and taken into police custody.

Police are uncertain as to a motive for the attack but believe it may be related to a family feud.
