Swedes implicated in child porn raid
A record child porn raid in Austria has led to suspicions being raised against 50 people in Sweden.
Austrian police suspect 2,360 people in 77 countries to be involved. Around 50 Swedes were identified in the Austrian police investigation, but it is unclear whether Swedish police will take any action.
"There material we have access to raises a number of questions," said Stefan Kronkvist, head of the Swedish Police Force's IT Crimes Unit, to Dagens Nyheter.
The Swedes named in the investigation are accused of accessing child porn stored on particular servers. Swedish law does not make it punishable to simply view child porn on line, however. To be convicted, a person must have downloaded or spread child pornography.
