Two people died in a fire in an apartment in the Gårda area of Gothenburg on Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The alarm was raised just after 7am. The apartment is in a council-owned building on Fabriksgatan and the emergency services evacuated 13 people while the blaze was being put out.

Firemen brought the fire under control after half an hour. It was limited to one room in the apartment and did not spread to other parts of the building.
