Pensioner drives electric wheelchair on motorway

Police in Gothenburg received a number of reports on Tuesday of a man who had been seen travelling in an electric wheelchair on the E 20 motorway. At around 7pm, the man was spotted travelling on the wrong side of the road, facing oncoming traffic.
Ambulance staff were first to arrive on the scene and managed to halt the wheelchair's progress. The driver was an 80-year-old man who had ended up on the motorway by accident.
Police in Västra Götland took him out of danger and left him with his family.
A police van was also called in to take the wheelchair off the motorway.
