Five other men were also sentenced by Södertörn District Court for various violent crimes committed in connection with the murder.

The killing occurred after the escalation of a fight between two groups of young men in the Mälarhöjden suburb. The fight began after one of the men vomited outside the front door of an apartment belonging to a member of the other group.

Members both groups began arguing about the incident and soon they began chasing each other on the street outside with knives and other weapons.

Samir, 25, was stabbed to death with a knife. Another man was also stabbed but his injuries were not life-threatening.
