Five hurt in fairground accident

Five people were taken to hospital in the small hours of Sunday morning after an accident at a funfair in Oviken, south west of Östersund.
The accident happened just before 2am when a wagon broke loose from a carousel at the Fröjdholmen venue. The wagon was fixed to a rotating floor and spun round at high speed when the bolt holding it down broke. It was flung through a railing and onto the ground beside the ride.
"But nobody was seriously injured," said Sören Backman at Jämtland police.

It is unclear what caused the accident but a technical investigation has been launched.
