Several other people, both patients and staff at the man’s clinic, have contacted police about the man, although not all have chosen to lodge formal reports, according to newspaper Sydsvenskan.
“The figure now stands at seven. This investigation could turn into something much bigger than we previously believed,” said Max Fredriksson, who represents the women accusing the doctor.
The plastic surgeon was remanded in custody at the end of June on suspicion of raping a 25-year-old patient while she was anaesthetized.
Prosecutor Bo Albrektsson said investigators have found DNA linking the man to the crime.
