"The man was born in 1975, he is a Finnish citizen and he is not registered in Sweden. But we have information that leads us to believe that he intended to register himself in Tullinge," said police spokesman Kjell Lindgren.

The man previously lived in southern Sweden.

On Saturday police continued to question a 23-year-old woman who was taken into custody on Friday.

"We are investigating whether she has anything at all to do with this. The crime has been categorised as murder but people can be involved in different ways," said Lindgren.

Several other people will also be contacted during the day but police said that no other suspect had been identified.

"There's nobody in particular that we're looking for right now," said Lindgren.

Police are waiting for the results of forensic inquiries and the post mortem before they can say whether the man was murdered on Friday or earlier.
