Police in Norrköping have closed the city's main police station after receiving a bomb threat, Folkbladet reports.

The station was evacuated on Wednesday morning after a male caller phoned police with the threat at 8.23am.

"He gave his name and said that the bomb had been placed outside the police station," police spokeswoman Annsofie Bondesson told TT.

Armed police have sealed off the area around the building.

"We are currently working to arrest the man who phoned in the threat," said Bondesson.

The man is reported to have informed police that the bomb was set to detonate at 9.22am.
