Explosives were found on a town square in the western Swedish town of Halmstad on Sunday morning.

Grönevångstorget, in the Andersberg area of the city, was cordoned off during the morning and the suspect package was removed by the bomb squad.

Police were alerted at 5am to a suspect package and were on inspection unable to determine its nature. Bomb experts from Malmö were then called in.
