Sweden's Olympic triple jump champion Christian Olsson, who has been out injured for almost a year, will take part in next week's IAAF meeting in Madrid, the IAAF said on its website.

All eyes will now be on the 28-year-old defending Olympic champion as he competes against a talented field, which includes Portuguese world champion Nelson Evora.

Olsson has been troubled by a hamstring injury picked up at a Golden League meeting in Rome last July, which eventually forced him to pull out of the world championships in Osaka a month later.

"It feels really uphill now but I've had many injuries in the past and I know how to come back even if the road can be a long one," the 2004 Olympic and 2006 European championship holder said at the time.
