Anders Eklund charged in Engla killing
Murder charges were filed on Friday morning in Falu District Court against 42-year-old Anders Eklund, the truck driver accused of killing 10-year-old Engla Juncosa Högland in April.
Eklund was charged in the death of Engla, as well as for the 2000 killing of Pernilla Hellgren in Falun.
He was also charged for aggravated rape of a child in connection with the Engla killing, the aggravated rape of Pernilla, another rape which occurred in Sandviken in 2006, as well as child pornography crimes.
Eklund has confessed to both murders.
Ten-year-old Engla disappeared on Saturday, April 5th a few hundered metres from her home. Two days later Eklund was arrested at a roadside pub in Hallandsåsen in southwest Sweden on suspicions of kidnapping.
Six days later he admitted to killing the girl and to having raped and killed Pernilla eight years earlier.
Eklunds trial is set to start on Monday in the secure chambers at the Stockholm district court house.
