More than 3000 passengers were stranded at Skavsta Airport south of Stockholm on Friday.

Fog continues to engulf the airport on Saturday morning.

“It is still extremely foggy, so we are crossing our fingers that it doesn't get any worse. So far everything is on schedule this morning,” Joakim Lindholm, head of operations at Skavsta Airport, told TT news agency.

Some of the stranded passengers chose to sleep at the airport in hopes of being rebooked.

“We really hope that it doesn't stay foggy the whole day, because there are even more people and even harder to get off the ground,” Lindholm said.
