The victim is being treated at Mölndal hospital for serious injuries after sustaining a leg fracture, swelling and grazes in the attack.

Her assailants, believed to be two men and a woman, attempted to make off with the woman's handbag.

"It was ruthless," police spokesperson Ulla Brehm said of the incident.

The thieves succeeded in taking the keys to the woman's home but family members and a janitor worked quickly to change the locks. It is unclear whether anything else was stolen.

Story continues below…

Police have spoken to witnesses and are searching for the perpetrators.

Police should do something about it. A lot of robberies going on on Gothenburg. It is really dangerous going out at night.

A lot of assaults occurs in daylight too.

worthless pieces of crap. Why has this happened? Drug addicts or something? I've been hearing alot about drug addicts stealing random stuff recently and I wouldn't be suprised. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

Where is the description? What information could you possibly be hiding from us? I think your failure to give a complete description says it all.

hm, insinuations already, my wife's car was recently stolen by a "swedish" junkie, wonder what he would have done to her if she walked in on him trying to steal her car.

Poor old woman, if someone was there and tried to help her by fighting off the robbers, that someone would probably be sitting in jail now on assault charges.

In spite of what some would have us believe, evil does exist in this world. We just need to start acknowledging it when we see it, then do something to eradicate it.

ok I found this in another newspaper:

"Rånet inträffade strax före klockan halv elva på fredagsförmiddagen på Hvitfeldtsgatan. Kvinnan attackerades av tre personer, en kvinna och en man i 40-årsåldern samt en man i 20-årsåldern"

It sounds like drug addicts to me. Lots of drug addicts in Gothenburg. Lot of robberies lately.

Strange that nobody helped her.
