Swedish employers are taking on staff at the highest rate for seven months, according to the Monster Employment Index.

The March index, compiled from a survey of 148 European job websites, shows the number of job advertisements rising across all sectors last month.

The index, published by the international online recruitment giant, rose seven points from February to March, indicating a six percent rise in the number of vacancies.

Vacancies rose most in the management and consultancy sectors, with 21 percent more vacancies than in February and 4 percent more than in March last year.

Geographically, the rise was most marked in northern and western Sweden, although the number of vacancies were up across the country. The IT and research and development (R&D) sectors saw particularly significant rises, at 12 percent and 15 percent respectively.
