The royal couple arrived in Sweden at 8.49pm in a private jet which departed Bedford, near Boston earlier in the afternoon, according to the Aftonbladet tabloid.

The couple spent the first part of their honeymoon in the South Pacific before travelling to the USA, with a visit to New York among other places.

While the final preparations are made to their new home in Solna's Haga park the couple will reside in Drottningholm Palace, the official residence of the King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

According to the newspaper the reality of daily working life will not begin until their first royal engagement in Örebro on August 21st, at a celebration of the Bernadotte dynasty's 200-year reign.

Story continues below…

In the meantime Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will adjust to married life with visits to their respective families on Öland and Ockelbo.

folks lets pay their bills from our tax money..
12:47 August 2, 2010 by Sherian Elizabeth
Stop bitching about the royal family...........know how many royal families I have to pay for ...let see...........over 300 + for sure, they are called Congress, elected by the American people and each and every one has their limo, golf club, big houses or some have more then one house, private travel, trips around the world, private clubs, and more.......this all comes out of my tax payer dollar. In fact this weekend a daughter (Clinton) got married, her police and security detail where paid for by our tax dollars..............she is just a daughter and she gets security paid for,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,she isn't even royal....no more blue blood then you or me. It seems one family is cheaper then the 300+ that I have to put with. Then we have the governors of each state, 52 that get the same thing and lets not forget all the mayors of our cities. Chicago's mayor is one of the worst, please let him ride the CTA instead of his air conditioned limo, let him eat at McDonald's instead of the fancy places he goes to, let him wear jeans and T shirts instead of $5,000.00 suits and get rid of the security detail he runs around with.

It is very understandable that people "bitch" about the royal family. People make fun of how serious swedes take the royal family about their "work" life. They don`t have a work life in fact; you can`t regard enjoying protocol in ceremonies and events or charity as a full-time job and you can`t take a 3 month break of the job if you broke up with your boyfriend/girlfriend like princess Madeleine did. At least in US, elected people have real duties and they are "elected" by free will.

Paying bills from my taxes to my own people (Swedes) and for such an angelic smile (Princess Victoria's smile) is way better than paying corrupted greeks or paying money to rebuild what the Israeli war criminals have destroyed.

@Mark02010S- If they were Israeli war criminals then they destroyed the terrorists heaven. This is how I see. Think of Malmö rained by missiles or better don't you see those people in your own country.

"This is how I see"

I can conclusively say that you are blind. If you think targetting civilian population and civilian infrastructure is fair, then, you are a heartless beast that writes and talks like human .

Gee, I hope they enjoyed their holiday. Wonder when my turn comes?

The geeky guy has a big smile on his face. I suppose I would too, if I had just spent 6 weeks alone with Vicky.

Six weeks! Must be nice to not have a care in the world and be able to honeymoon for a month and a half.
03:30 August 3, 2010 by glamelixir
6 weeks... with our money... not nice. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

I had to go on a last minute charter to sardinia for one week on my honeymoon, we didn't even get a double bed. But hey! I am paying for Victoria's dream honeymoon.

@glamelixir: I am with you! I want my money back, or at least I would have appreciated being invited to their wedding party. ;)

21st century and there are people who still think they have blue blood! LOL
