In brief: Hailing from the leafy affluent suburbs of the capital, Djurgården has traditionally been the poshman’s club of Swedish football. Their supporters include the King of Sweden and the prime minister.

They also enjoy a strong rivalry with fellow Stockholmers AIK – arguably the biggest derby in Swedish football. In the early 2000s, they enjoyed a purple patch that saw them win three titles in four seasons – as close as any other team has come to dominating Swedish football in recent years.

Expectations in 2013: Times have been tough of late, narrowly avoiding relegation in 2009, however manager Magnus Pehrsson is rebuilding and turning things around, and last season showed signs of promise.

Players to watch: After an unsuccessful stint in Holland, Erton Fejzullahu is getting his career back on track and looks to be a standout player this season.
