A review by the TV4 news channel and tabloid Kvällsposten showed that three out of ten randomly purchased kebabs contained pork.
The highest content came from meat products wholesaler Gourmetpoolen, they reported. As much as 18 percent of its kebab meat was shown to come from pigs.
Company representatives in turn say they have bought the Rumanian meat through a complex supply chain. They deliver meat to about 20 customers in the southern Skåne region.
The kebab vendors had advertised the meat as 100 percent beef.
“This is a catastrophe. I eat this all the time,” one vendor told TV4.
