“We had to call an ambulance because she had sustained concussion,” duty police officer Morgan Connedal said.
According to Connedal it remained unclear as to why the wedding reception ended as it did. Witnesses have told how the groom became aggressive and threw chairs and other objects around him before leaving.
According to reports his intention was to drive himself home.
“The bride and a friend went off in chase and when they found the man, he assaulted them,” Connedal said.
It remained unclear how the bride sustained a concussion but according to a report in the local Nya Wermlands Tidning, the groom pushed her so hard that she fell and hit her head.
“The friend has declined to participate in the investigation but we suspect that he assaulted his wife,” Connedal confirmed.
The groom has not yet been interviewed as he was too intoxicated when police officers took him in after putting an end to his attempts to drive.
“He was detained for drunk driving and will be interviewed today (Sunday),” said Morgan Connedal.
