A Swedish man in his sixties died on Tuesday after he was hit by a train while crossing the tracks on a ride-on lawn mower.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning in Östersund, northern Sweden. The man was reportedly driving across the tracks in an area with no crossing gates.
"It was at a pass without any lights, just sound," Esbjörn Eriksson of the Östersund emergency services told the TT news agency.
"The man had earmuffs on and didn't hear when the train signalled."
The crash occurred as the train was passing Lugnvik, just outside of Östersund. The man was taken to hospital but died soon after from his injuries.
The incident is being investigated by police.
