Oct. 9: Lecture on Argentina and its many crises (Stockholm)
The word “crisis” is a favorite in Argentine political talk. During the second half of the twentieth century, the country experienced successive economic and political crises, and the start of the new century brought about the social and economic debacle of 2001. From then on, however, changes in the global markets opened up new opportunities for Argentina, which initially took advantage of the situation to improve its international standing and its internal conditions. Yet now we are once again at the verge of a new crisis. Why and how is this happening? The main purpose of this talk is to reflect upon the political conditions that are pushing in that direction. When: Thursday, October 9, from 18:00 to 20:00 Where: Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund (ABF), Sveavägen 41, Stockholm University
