Tuesday was an unusual day for Sweden's emergency services to say the least, as their response to a call-out over a burning outhouse was curtailed at the last minute when the person who called it in rang again to say she had seen the fire in a dream.

The original alarm was raised early on Tuesday morning when the woman called to say that her husband had attempted to put out the supposed fire in Bengtsfors himself, radio station P4 Väst reports.

The fire service and an ambulance travelled out to the address but failed to locate a fire. When they were just about to leave the site, a new call came in from the same woman, who apologized and explained that she had seen the fire in a bad dream.

"Calling and apologizing was the honest thing to do, it was a very unusual alarm," Christian Rådén from the Swedish emergency services told P4 Väst.
