Police in Malmö are looking for a group of armed robbers who opened fire at an apartment in the south of the city.

"Several people where in the apartment when unknown people came in and opened fire. No one is physically injured," Malmö police wrote on their website.

Investigators eventually confirmed after several hours that the incident was part of a robbery. It is not known what the target of the robbery was however.

Officers met resistance when they arrived at the scene, with eggs thrown at them from a window in the building, local newspaper Sydsvenskan reports.

Police have yet to find any suspects.
