September 23rd was European Language Day, a day celebrating linguistic diversity in Europe and promoting language learning.
European Language Day celebrates the cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe. Strong language skills are an asset that facilitate communication as well as helping us to learn about other people and cultures.
Speaking foreign languages is a real asset when travelling abroad, allowing you to communicate with people you wouldn't normally understand and dive deeper into a culture that is not your own. Learning new languages comes with many benefits.
Inspired by European Language Day, SI News hit the streets of Stockholm to find out how many languages random Stockholmers speak and why they think language learning is important.
