Sweden's leading opposition party, the Social Democrats, has demanded that Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson concede defeat in the country's national election as the last votes to be counted look less and less likely to overturn the opposition's three-seat lead.

My husband has always been a Moderate. Originally from Skåne, he lived abroad for many years. In the last elections, he voted for Kristersson's Moderate Party, marking his first time not voting for them now. Returning to Sweden and witnessing daily life here has opened his eyes. He said Sweden was no longer the Sweden he knew. In this, he meant lagom. The turning point was the Swedish Democrats and their openly racist rhetoric. It's one thing to reform the immigration system to prevent abuse by criminals, but another to go to extremes and deport innocent children and families. We’ve seen things go too far in the US, where innocent immigrants disappear, die, or are detained in concentration-camp-style jails under ICE and the current fascist government. Aside from recent välflask offered by Tidö, like temporary VAT cuts on food and other election gimmicks, these divisions have fueled hatred among Swedes, mirroring MAGA-style polarization in the US.

And: - Increased defense spending and sustained support for Ukraine. - Reduced net migration: Tighter work-permit rules (higher salary thresholds), stricter family reunification requirements, and reduced refugee quotas contributed to a sharp drop in asylum applications and overall net migration compared to the 2015-2021 period, easing pressure on housing, schools, and integration systems.

Better to avoid emotional ranting and look at the facts showing the positive and responsible government over the past four years by Ulf’s coalition: - Inflation fell from ~10% (when Kristersson took office in 2022) to near the Riksbank's 2% target by 2025-2026. - The economic downturn that began in 2022-2023 turned into recovery through 2025-2026, with rising real wages, more jobs, and stronger exports and household consumption. - Several tax cuts implemented, including on fuel and reduced VAT on food. - Public transport monthly card costs halved as a cost-of-living measure. - Shootings fell sharply, from 390 in 2022 to 147 in 2025, alongside expanded preventive police powers. - Sweden completed NATO accession under this government.

All Ulf cares about is being statsminister — even if that means welcoming SD into his coalition (as he did in 2022), being Jimmie’s puppet for 4 years, offering SD ministries in this election, or refusing to step down when his selfish dream comes to an end. He is a self-serving stain on Sweden’s reputation.
