After clocking up more than four million YouTube hits and gaining international media coverage everywhere from the BBC to Polish online newspapers, the original Swedish video is currently being translated into English.
The new version of the song is set to be released in "two to three weeks", the man who composed the original score, Johan Holmström, has told The Local.
It is set to be made available on YouTube and in audio form via the Swedish music streaming site Spotify.
Originally made for the children's programme Barnkanalen, which is produced by Sweden's public broadcaster SVT, the song uses child-friendly Swedish words for genitals 'snipp' and 'snopp' and was designed to teach children about the body and its functions.
It ended up making global headlines after YouTube initially classified it as 'adult content'.
SVT later persuaded the video giant to agree that the clip was not explicit or aimed at adults and to lift the classification.
But tens of thousands of parents around the world waded into a debate about how appropriate the song was, while others turned to social media to say they'd become hooked by the video's catchy melody.

— Leon D Bush (@Leonsr7) January 13, 2015 Speaking to The Local on Wednesday, the song's creator Johan Holmström said he was excited that English-speaking audiences would soon be able to experience the song in their own language. "My record company has someone translating it as we speak," he told us.
"It feels great. It’s going to be fun to see the reactions. The important thing is not that it’s exactly translated from Swedish – it’s more that we get the feel right."
More precise translations that have already been written up in international media include lines such as "here comes the willy at full pace", and "the vagina is cool, you better believe it, even on an old lady. It just sits there so elegantly".
Asked if he thought the video would have a genuine global appeal with its target audience of three to six-year-olds, Holmström said: "I think that music is an international language so – yes. Or at least I hope so!"
