Meet the teacher
Jenny Crowther specialises in Swedish for adult learners and teaching Swedish as a second language.
Over her 20-year career, Jenny has worked as an educational developer, head teacher, guidance coordinator for language testing, and project manager.
Jenny has also co-operated with the Swedish educational ministry, the Department of Second Language Learning, to develop and introduce globally recognized and well-established methodologies to the Swedish education system to optimize language learning.
What does each course include?
Below is an overview of what’s included in courses A1-1, A1-2, and A1-3. Each course builds on the previous one, so you can develop your Swedish step by step. In this course, you’ll establish a solid foundation in Swedish. You’ll gain confidence in basic conversations, covering essential vocabulary and grammar for everyday topics.

The course includes 144 pages of material with guidance from your teacher, plus video lessons, audio recordings, and step-by-step explanations. You’ll complete weekly homework, receive feedback, and take small tests to track your progress.
Building on what you learned in Course 1, this course delves deeper with three additional modules and 115 pages of content.

The material includes audio files, explanations, and video lessons to clarify grammar and highlight differences between Swedish and English. You’ll complete texts, listening exercises, pronunciation drills, writing tasks, conversation exercises, and tests—and receive detailed homework feedback from your teacher.
In this course, you’ll advance to a higher level of Swedish with three more modules and 120 pages of content.

• Adjectives in singular, plural, and definite forms

As you approach the A2 intermediate level, you’ll work through Modules 7–9 with video lessons for each new grammar concept. Your teacher will provide weekly updates, homework, feedback, and small tests to help you track your progress. The aim of this course is to help you become more confident and independent in your Swedish.

What does each course include?

A1 Part 1
Start from zero and learn the basics of Swedish.
This course focuses on pronunciation, essential vocabulary, and simple grammar. Topics include greetings, the alphabet, numbers, days, food, family, and common verbs. You’ll get clear explanations, weekly homework with feedback, and plenty of practice with video and audio materials.
A1 Part 2
Continue your journey with more vocabulary and grammar. You’ll learn to talk about housing, your neighbourhood, and weekly routines. This course introduces verb groups, reflexive pronouns, conjunctions, and comparative adjectives. You’ll deepen your understanding of sentence structure while practicing speaking, writing, and listening.
A1 Part 3
This final A1 course prepares you to move toward intermediate (A2) level. You’ll learn to describe travel, hobbies, and shopping experiences in Swedish. Key grammar includes past tenses, definite nouns, advanced adjectives, and sentence patterns. With weekly teacher feedback and engaging practice tasks, you’ll become more independent in your Swedish.

👉 Is this a live course or self-paced?
It’s a self-paced online course format, designed to fit your schedule. Each course runs over 15 weeks, starting on a set date so that you move through it alongside other students. You’ll get support from the teacher by email, optional live lessons and optional study groups.
👉 How does the self-assessment survery work?
It’s a short survey designed to assess your current level of Swedish. At the end we will tell you the course best suited for you based on your skill level.
👉 How long do I get access to the course?
Pay just once to access the course whenever suits you in the year ahead.
👉 Do I need to speak any Swedish to join?
Nope! This course is designed for total beginners. But if you already know a little Swedish, we’ll help you start at the right level.
👉 What if I need help during the course
You can email your teacher during the 15 weeks with questions and have the option to form a study group with other students. There will also be optional live lessons during the course, focusing on pronunciation and grammar where you can bring your questions.

Terms & Conditions
Course Access
By enrolling in the course, you gain online access to all course materials, including video lessons, supporting documents. During the 15 weeks, you have support from your teacher and fellow students. You may complete the course at your own pace.
Course Start Date
This course has a fixed group start date. The next group is scheduled to begin on March 26, 2026. Your access will be activated on or just before this date. A minimum of 10 students is required for the course to proceed on schedule. If fewer than 10 students enroll, the start date may be pushed back by one week. We will notify you via email in that case.
Payment & Refunds
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. The fee covers all course materials and teacher support for a period of 15 weeks. Refunds are not automatically issued if you change your mind or do not begin the course. However, if the course is delayed by more than 30 days due to low enrollment, you will be offered the option to wait or receive a full refund.
Support & Communication
You will receive email support throughout the 15 weeks course. You will also have the option to join live lessons and form a study group with other students.
