School bans low-hanging pants

In the strange world of teenage fashion, showing off the top of your g-string has become a mark of cool.

But librarians are not known for keeping up with trends, and now the bookworms at a school in southern Sweden are banning pupils from borrowing books if their underwear is showing above their belts.

School pupils in Sweden are usually allowed to choose their own apparel, but the librarians at Tullbro school in Falkenberg, in the south of the country, take a dim view of modern teenage fashion.

Children will be turned away from the library if they show the tops of their underwear, or if they are wearing baseball caps or beanies, local newspaper Hallands Nyheter reports.

The paper wrote that it could not find any further examples of bans in other local schools.
