A 37-year-old man has been jailed for eight years for raping his teenage stepdaughter more than 200 times over a six year period.

The rapes and assaults occurred at a series of residential addresses and public places across Stockholm, according to a report in the Metro daily.

Several of the attacks occurred in public places, including the stairwell in one of the Hötorget skyscrapers where he raped his stepdaughter on a daily basis after she had finished school.

The man, who lives in southern Stockholm, has now been imprisoned for eight years for aggravated child rape. The court also ordered the man to pay the girl 350,000 kronor ($48,800) in damages.

The man filmed many of the assaults against the girl who claimed in court that he had threatened to publish the films on the internet if she exposed him.

The films were submitted as evidence in court and assisted in convicting the man.

The now 37-year-old man admitted to having sex with his stepdaughter but argued that she was older than 15 (the legal age of consent) at the time.
